Carrying over 12 million passengers per year, the railway network is a key tourism and transport infrastructure in Vietnam.
The main railway line, North–South, runs between the two largest cities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Secondary railway lines depart from Hanoi station connecting several destinations in North Vietnam: Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Dong Dang, Ha Long and Hai Phong, and Saigon Railway station connecting with destinations in South Vietnam: Quy Nhon and Phan Thiet. All lines are operated by the state-owned company Vietnam Railways.
In an effort to bring the best value to local and international travellers we are pleased to announce that we are integrating train information in our platform in collaboration with International Cooperation Department of Vietnam Railways.
Starting from today, users can search for railway routes, schedules and fares for all the train services in operation in Vietnam. Travellers can benefit from using Baolau to plan their trip in advance and save time looking at the timetables and price lists in the station before buying the tickets.
Furthermore, we made a big effort translating the information to multiple languages so foreign visitors can have a better understanding of the railway network and use the train to reach many touristic destinations around Vietnam.
Having added train routes to our system, our algorithm is now able to calculate the best route connecting any two cities combining airways and railways, so you can always find your way in Vietnam even if there is no direct route.
We expect to continue cooperating with Vietnam Railways in order to update the data and provide a reliable information service.
