Myanma Railways is the state-owned railway operator in Myanmar, connecting Yangon, Bago, Toungoo, Naypyidaw, Thazi, Mandalay and Mawlamyine.
Trains operated by Myanma Railways
Myanma Railways operates two types of train services:
- - DEMU trains
- - Ordinary trains
The diesel-electric multiple units (DEMU) railway service is operated with Spanish CAF trains and Japanese KiHa series trains running at a maximum speed of 100 km/h.
The ordinary railway service is operated with Indian DF series locomotives and Chinese CRRC DF series locomotives running at a maximum speed of 100 km/h.

Upper Myanmar comprises Mandalay, Sagaing, Magway Regions, and Chin, Kachin and Shan States.
