Plan your trip with Baolau and Claude
Baolau facilitates online booking for train tickets in Asia — Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, China and Japan — and also bus, ferry and flight tickets in Southeast Asia.
We have developed a connector to bring Baolau’s search and compare capabilities into Claude to support travel discovery and trip planning.
Travelers can ask Claude how to get between two cities and receive a clear overview of the available departures by train, bus, ferry and flight. Claude can compare them by journey duration, departure time, operator, fare class and price, helping travelers choose the option that best suits their budget, schedule and travel needs. Claude can also confirm the availablity for the selected date live with the operator.
Finally, Claude facilitates the reservation by preparing a booking link with the departure and fare already selected when the user lands on Baolau.
How to connect Baolau in Claude
Follow these simple steps to set up Baolau connector on your Claude account:
Login your Claude account.

Select Connect.
Ask Claude about your trip. If Claude does not use Baolau by default, select + in the message box, then Connectors, and switch Baolau on.
How to use Baolau connector in Claude
Once Baolau is connected to Claude, you can ask Claude about your trip.
Claude can search routes between two cities on a given date and compare means of transportation, durations, departure times, operators fare classes and prices. Claude can also check live availability for the number of passengers.
When users are ready to book, Claude will prepare the booking links to direct them to baolau.com with the departure and fare already selected, so they can complete the ticket reservation. Nothing is booked or reserved until the user completes the reservation and payment on baolau.com.

Example conversationI've checked live availability on Baolau for all seven legs. Every departure below is on sale, and the links open Baolau with the train or bus already selected. Prices are for 1 passenger in a reserved seat.
Your itinerary
| Date | Leg | Service | Departs → Arrives | Fare | Book |

| Wed 04/11 | Shirakawa-go → Takayama | Nohi Bus | 13:30 → 14:20 | $17.72 | Book |
| Thu 05/11 | Takayama → Nagoya | Ltd. Exp. Hida 4 (JR Central) | 08:00 → 10:34 | $37.59 | Book |
| Thu 05/11 | Nagoya → Kyoto | Shinkansen Nozomi 51 (JR) | 18:26 → 19:00 | $37.40 | Book |
| Total | $231 | ||||
Time at each stop
- Matsumoto: about 8 hours. That's enough for the castle and the Nakamachi/Nawate streets before the evening train.
- Nagano: two nights, with 02/11 completely free. Zenkō-ji is the obvious choice, or a day trip to the snow monkeys at Jigokudani.
- Kanazawa: you arrive late morning on 03/11 and have the rest of the day for Kenroku-en, Higashi Chaya and Omicho Market.
- Shirakawa-go: about 4 hours. That's enough for the village and the Shiroyama viewpoint.
- Takayama: you arrive mid-afternoon on 04/11 for the old town, and pass by the morning market on the way to the 08:00 train.
- Nagoya: about 8 hours, which is enough to visit the castle and Osu. You reach Kyoto at 19:00.
Get from Bangkok to the islands in the Gulf of Thailand
Claude
Example conversationThere's no direct flight or road to Koh Tao, so every route combines land or air with a ferry from the mainland, usually from Chumphon. The simplest option is a joint bus + catamaran ticket from Khao San Road in Bangkok.
Bus + catamaran
I checked a sample date. Prices are from Baolau's latest check, not a live quote.
| Duration | Leg | Service | Departs → Arrives | Fare | Book |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9h | Bangkok (Khao San Road) → Koh Tao (Mae Haad Pier) | Lomprayah bus + catamaran | 06:00 → 03:43 (+1) | $37.41 | Book |
| 10h45 | Bangkok (Khao San Road) → Koh Tao (Mae Haad Pier) | Lomprayah bus + catamaran | 21:30 → 08:15 (+1) | $25.44 | Book |
| 10h45 | Bangkok (Khao San Road) → Koh Tao (Mae Haad Pier) | Lomprayah bus + catamaran | 22:00 → 08:45 (+1) | $37.41 | Book |
The night departures save you a hotel night and arrive on Koh Tao in the morning.
Other ways
- Overnight train to Chumphon, then ferry. Sleeper trains run from Bangkok to Chumphon, and catamarans cross from there in about 1.5–2 hours. This is more comfortable than the bus, but you have to time the train arrival and the ferry departure.
- Fly, then ferry. You can fly to Koh Samui or Surat Thani and then take a boat. This is the fastest overall, but it costs the most.
Want me to check a specific date?
Here's the plan for Thu 12/11, for 1 passenger. Both legs were confirmed on sale just now.
Your itinerary
| Date | Leg | Service | Departs → Arrives | Fare | Book |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Thu 12/11 | Bangkok (Krung Thep Aphiwat) → Chumphon | SRT EX85 2nd class sleeper berth (A/C) | 19:50 → 03:43 (+1) | $21.82 | Book |
| Fri 13/11 | Chumphon (Thung Makham Noi Pier) → Koh Tao (Mae Haad Pier) | Lomprayah catamaran | 07:00 → 08:45 | $22.45 | Book |
| Total | $44.27 | ||||
Why this combination
- The timing works. You arrive about 3 hours before the boat. Southbound trains often run late, so that cushion matters.
- You get a sleeper. The berth is about $11 more than a seat, and it's worth it for an overnight train.
- I skipped the earliest ferry at 05:45. It's too tight to get from Chumphon Raiway Station to Thung Makham Noi Pier, outside Chumphon town.

Example conversationI've planned the route and checked live availability on Baolau for all four legs. Every departure below is on sale, and the links open Baolau with the service and fare already selected for 2 passengers.
Your itinerary
| Date | Leg | Service | Departs → Arrives | Fare / person | Book |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fri 20/11 | Hanoi → Ninh Binh (Tam Coc) | Trang An Limousine van | 07:30 → 10:00 | $11.59 | Book |
| Sun 22/11 | Ninh Binh → Hue | Lotus Train SE19, private 2-berth cabin | 21:57 → 08:45 (+1) | $150.66 | Book |
| Tue 24/11 | Hue → Da Nang | Vietnam Railways HĐ3, soft seat premium | 14:30 → 18:15 | $10.93 | Book |
| Thu 26/11 | Da Nang → Ho Chi Minh | VietJet VJ623, Deluxe fare | 20:20 → 21:45 | $29.15 | Book |
| Total for 2 passengers ($202.5 per person) | $405 | ||||
Itinerary
- Ninh Binh (20–22/11): the Limousine van drops you in Tam Coc by 10:00. You get two full days for a Tam Coc boat ride, the Hang Mua viewpoint and Trang An. The night train on the following day saves you a hotel night.
- Hue (23–24/11): you arrive at 08:45 and have all day plus the morning of the next day to visit the Citadel and the royal tombs.
- Da Nang (24–26/11): the afternoon HĐ train runs along the coast over the Hai Van Pass, which is a sight in itself. Spend the next day in Hoi An, about 45 minutes away, and the last day in Da Nang before the evening flight to Ho Chi Minh.
Choices and alternatives
- Night train from Ninh Binh to Hue: Vietnam Railways' own 4-berth sleeper on SE19 is sold out. For two people, the Lotus private cabin gives you the whole compartment. To save about $147 for the two of you, take the Lotus 4-berth shared cabin ($77.26).
- Flight from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh: Deluxe is only $2.50 more than Eco ($26.65). Deluxe fares usually include checked baggage. A train from Da Nang to Saigon takes 17 hours or more, so flying makes sense here.
