Having experienced gran car of course this was below it. We were a bit disappointed that no free drink or snack was offered. And no hot drinks, only black coffee Jeanette

Train was delayed by over 40 minutes leaving all the passengers including myself with no other choice but to get a local train to Nagano. This meant my transfer window from Nagano to Tokyo of half an hour was missed and thereby my trip back on that particular Shinkansen. However, to their credit, the JR staff officials at the ticket gate were extraordinarily helpful and reissued me a new Shinkansen ticket to Tokyo right away and the delay only cost me 50 minutes in total. I felt that the time allowed between both rail journeys was not enough for me to comfortably navigate Tokyo station to get from the end of the Shinkansen journey, collect my ticket from a machine, and then find my way to the Narita Express platform. David

Really happy with booking Shinkansen tickets on Baolau. Unfortunately, Japan Rail doesn't make it easy to purchase tickets online (if it's even possible at all), but Baolau made it a breeze. Picking up tickets on the day of travel only required scanning a QR code at the station. Very easy. Thanks! Michael

Baolau we’re very helpful when there we’re limited seats available to be able to sit together with our group, instead of just booking separate seats for everyone they gave me 2 other options which worked out great.
