Odakyu Railway is a Japanese private railway connecting Tokyo, Kamakura, Odawara and Hakone.
Odakyu Railway operates commuter lines with trains running on conventional rail at a maximum speed of 120 km/h.

Conventional rail services are classified depending on the stop pattern:
- - Limited Express is the fastest service stopping at major stations
- - Express is a fast service stopping at most stations
- - Local is a slow service stopping at all stations
When travelling on conventional rail, the rail pass is valid for all the trains regardless of the number of stops or transfers. The rail pass allows the passengers to access the platform and board Limited Express, Express or Local trains.

On Limited Express trains, a Reserved Seat ticket is required in addition to the standard ticket or the rail pass since Limited Express trains operated by Odakyu Railway offer Reserved Seat only. Limited Express tickets can be purchased in advance.


On Express and Local trains, travellers can board with standard ticket or rail pass and they are allowed to take any seat available. On these trains, seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. When all the seats are full, passengers must travel standing on the corridor or the coach entrance without blocking the access to other passengers.

Passengers with Odakyu Fuji Hakone Pass can travel on Hakone Tozan Train, Hakone Tozan Cable Car, Hakone Ropeway, Hakone Sightseeing Cruise, Hakone Tozan Bus, Odakyu Hakone Highway Bus and Tokai Bus in Hakone area as well as Fujikyu Railway and Fujikyuko Bus in Fuji area for 3 consecutive days.

On trains, cable cars, ropeways, cruises and buses that do not require reserved seat, travellers are allowed to take any seat available. On these vehicles, seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. When all the seats are full, passengers are allowed to board the vehicle and travel standing.

How to use the rail pass?
The exchange order is valid to collect the rail pass at the station. It cannot be used to board the train.
After arriving in Japan, passengers can exchange the rail pass by presenting the passport and the exchange order at the ticket office in Odakyu Sightseeing Service Center, Shinjuku Station and Odakyu Sightseeing Service Center, Odawara Station.
Once exchanged, the rail pass will be associated with the passport and the holder will be able to travel for a number of consecutive days according to the validity indicated in the physical ticket.
Passengers can travel on Express and Local trains in Non-reserved Seat.
Passengers can also travel on Limited Express trains by purchasing a Reserved Seat ticket in advance. Limited Express tickets can be purchased in advance via web at www.web-odakyu.com or at the ticket office in the railway station.
RECEIVE YOUR EXCHANGE ORDER
Receive your exchange order (QR CODE) by email in PDF format. Print a copy in advance and carry it with your passport.
PICK UP YOUR RAIL PASS
Collect the rail pass at the ticket office in the exchange locations. To pass through the gates, insert your rail pass or show it to the station officer.
BOARD THE TRAIN
Access the platform, locate your car number corresponding to Non-reserved Seat or Reserved Seat and wait for the boarding call to board the train.
