The reclining function on the seat was broken so it kept readjusting itself. They tray would not remain in a horizontal position so could not be used. Tim

Ride is rather bumpy due to old rail tracks. First class coach is smaller than expected. No meals included in ticket, even for 1st class. Though service from SRT staff is good. John

The trip itself was good. The food service needs some attention. The employee walked down the carriage with a clip binder. It was not obvious that he was asking for orders for food and it was only on asking that I was told I could order, But I didn't know what the options were.. On previous trips they used a picture of the dishes available. The employee sought orders about three times but I didn't realise that the second and third time he passed he was seeking food orders. Consequently I had a very small box of food [ordered the first time he passed] . I'd actually have preferred the third offering once I saw what others got. Tim  

Everything was so good, kind staff, comfy and clean bed, but if you keep the lights on during the night, the whole experience switches to torture. And no, the curtains do not manage to keep the lights out. At least not in the upper berth. Thai Railways, please, to go from one to five stars, just switch off the lights! Oscar  

The bed was clean and comfortable, and overall the experience was good. The only drawback was the train toilet, which felt a bit too small for me. The ticket purchasing process has been good, and I haven't experienced any issues. Kam

Ha sido un viaje de 11 h. Durante todo el viaje las puertas de tren por donde entran los pasajeros desde ls vías han estado abiertas y también teníamos abiertas las ventanas. Esto ha permitido que en el vagón no hiciera calor, ya que todo el rato entraba corriente del exterior. Pero, por otro lado, esto hace que entre mucha porquería del exterior y había momentos en que se percibía la sucediedad en el ambiente de todo lo que entraba desde la calle Sandra  

The station was amazing - very modern and so easy to navigate and find the correct gate to board the train. Ran exactly on time and was very comfortable with excellent service on board Virginia

The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. We felt right at ease! The booking went fast and easy. The only thing that bothered us is that we couldn’t sleep very well due to the train coach being very noisy/squeeky as we went to sleep. The beds were hard too but since it’s a riding train we could definitely live with that. All in all a great experience. Very clear directions and departed on time. Booking was perfect and convenient without collecting additional tickets after purchasing from Baolau. Would definitely recommend. Lois  

The attendant was fantastic. A gentleman came and took our food order. If we would have gotten to the station earlier, I would have brought food on board. I wish we would have known that you could have adjoining rooms. Comfortable beds. Nice and cool at night. Robert  

It was a very comfortable experience, you can order breakfast as soon as you enter the train. They provide you with a bottle of water. Toilets are ok. It's an old train, earplugs can be helpfull. Jurjen  

The service of Baolau is excellent and superior than 12Go as Baolau sends the real ticket with QR-code, so no need to print the ticket at the station :) Pieter  

The train journey was fine. We got guidance from staff re where to stand for the arrival if the train. The train was a little late but made no difference to us. Toilets were very basic and rolling stock dated. I had thought the fast trains were more modern but I believe that's only the ones used for overnight. Claire

They sleeping cars are very comfortable, but way to cooled down to sleep well in short clothing. Its kinda stupid to have to carry warm clothes in Thailands hot temperature just to survive the night train. Olaf

I have used Baolau to book trains in Vietnam, Laos & Thailand and find their ticketing service to be excellent. When booking tickets you are assured of a quick confirmation unlike some other ticketing services. From the purchase of the ticket to boarding of the train to Vientiane, all went smoothly without a hitch. Would have preferred a sleeper coach though but still good to have our sleep sitting on a reclining seat. Thaddues
