Loud clanking till it rained pillows had hairs on it. Bathrooms siper clean and service was great. Food was good in cabin too. Johnson

The following text has been sent to me via email yesterday around 12pm, 7 hours before departure telling me that my cabin needed to be changed to a 4 berth. It was the second time that my conditions were changed. The cabin conditions were pretty bad, next to the wagon door which wasn't closing by itself. The cabin door was loose and was shaking for the majority of the time of the journey. The room wasn't smelling great and during the journey the aircon was switched on and off. The mattresses were thin and not comfortable. This is not what I was expecting after booking a 2 sleeper VIP berth. I wasn't pretending a luxurious 5-stars hotel bedroom but at least something worth 8,000,000 dong. This has been very disappointing. See the email from Lotus train below. Dear Mr. Erbetta, Giacomo, Please kindly be informed that due to serious problem with the wheels under our daily carriage number 7 (with 2-sleeper cabins). We are forced to replace the carriage number 7 with a 4-sleeper Giacomo  

Train was absolutely freezing. The staff were asleep in her room and when I asked her for more blankets she wouldn't let me have any! I had to grab them off her! Even with extra sheets and fullly clothed in bed we were absolutely freezing all night! The booking said we were entitled to 1 free complimentary drink from the staff but they wouldn’t give us one and even laughed at us. Freezing cold train and rude and nasty staff. The worst night of our lives. Matthew

This was one of the best experiences of our trip! We took a sleeper berth and travelled overnight, the cabins and washrooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. A great way to see the country! Courtney  

Changed to an earlier train but communication with Lotus excellent. Can’t say got much sleep but that’s the nature of the train. Plentiful snacks and boxed breakfast provided. Toilets ok… Suzannah

We had a very nice train ride, pleasantly surprised by the quality of train and service. We felt it was a little expensive compared to other travel options but had a positive experience and don't regret it. Isabelle

Our booking was incorrect as the carriage on our ticket was owned by another private railway company but Lotus staff resolved this by moving us to a different carriage. They were very professional and acted quickly to help us. We were in the end very happy with the move as we had a private compartment benefitting from low occupancy in the whole carriage so it was very quiet and clean. We had an excellent breakfast, the carriage was very comfortable and the drinks and snacks given to us were good too. All in all a very pleasant journey and experience. Jeanette

We loved our journey and everything was great with the exception of there being no toilet paper throughout the journey in the one toilet nearest our cabin (7A 6A+7). Fortunately we had our own. The train was on time and the Lotus attendant was fantastic when we boarded. The journey was very comfortable and we appreciated the snacks and light breakfast provided. Thanks to all concerned. Train was on time and the cabins well prepared. We had a 2 bed sleeping room and were offered two free drinks at the beginning, the employee of locus also showed us were the toilets were located. The cabins are not that big but okay for 2 People and 2 backpacks. Be aware that you won’t get that much sleep as the train is quite loud and you hear every door closing anytime. All in all it was a nice experience even though flying and sleeping in a hotel is probably more convenient and cheaper. Katharina  

Its a nice ride to Hue. I am able to get rest properly however unfortunately they didn't prohibit smoking at the carriage. It's annoying to smell it at 9pm before bedtime at night and 630am in the morning when you wake up. Train is old and squeaky but bed is comfortable. Wiwin

Hello Baolau-Team, hello Lotus-Express-Team, I booked the SE19 night train for 3 bunk beds from Hanoi to Danang on 03.04.2025. I chose Lotus-Express due to a recommendation and the high standard the advertised. Unfortuanelty our cabin turned out to be an older waggon of Lamen Express with an older cabin standard (waggon 5). The Lotus express waggon was another waggon. I raised my concern but unfortuanetly the staff did not understand me and was not really friendly either. Please refund me at least 30% of the amount paid due to the false accomondation. Many thanks. Benjamin

Le train est moins luxueux qu'on ne l'imagine sur les photos. Il ne faut pas prévoir de bien dormir car tout bouge beaucoup et la couchette est très dure. Le service est top avec nourriture, eau, chargeurs, wifi et petit déjeuner Alexandra

The train arrived on time and carriages were numbered which helped us find our berth quickly. We shared with another couple, but the berth didn’t feel cramped, and there was plenty of room for storing luggage under the beds. The berth was clean and beds comfortable. The rocking motion of the train actually helped us to sleep. The toilets were all kept clean throughout the journey. Breakfast bag, snacks, water and even a beer/wine were included in the price. Would definitely recommend. Tracey  

I booked a two berth cabin in the Lotus Train carriage. The cabin was comfortable with controllable air conditioning, and plenty of space to store luggage. The included drinks (beer, water, coffee and milk) were a nice extra along with the complimentary snacks. However, no doubt due to the rails, the ride was quite bumpy and bouncy st times. Stephen
