Reviews
Very organised service. The beds are not very comfortable and the train is very noisy with staff and vendors shouting late at night and early in the morning and opening the cabin door a lot. Overall this is a good and efficient service and a good experience. Lauren
Great service, tidy carriages Luka
Unfortunately, the room door got stuck several times (I was in seat nineteen), and we all cut our fingers quite deeply and were bleeding while trying to open it because the edges were sharp. I hope I won’t contract any blood-borne disease. Very disappointed. (A staff member also came to take photos of what happened.) Claudia
Great experience, staff were fantastic making for a very smooth experience all round, from boarding to stepping off. Door hand fell off and trapped us in our room briefly so maybe a bit more maintenance. Alasdair
The Livitrans representative was at the station 1 hour before departure however a more noticeable presence could be made. We entered our cabin for two people to find snacks and drinks as advertised. Departure and arrival times were as expected. The toilet facilities on this very old carriage were very poor with no soap or toilet paper or hand towels and by morning they were not clean. The beds too are very basic. Our cabin was very cold when we entered due to the air conditioning being on full, despite mentioning this to the representative nothing changed and so we’re unsure we’re quite cold throughout the night. Christopher
Train was an hour late leaving James
The cabin was nice and good, but the personal on the train was not friendly and opened twice in our cabin without permission. Bechler
Isabelle
Beds were a bit hard. Service meeting us at station with tickets was excellent Deborah
I accidentally booked the wrong train. Instead of offering a credit so I could rebook. I’ve had to pay again for the exact same train. I notified you before the 24 hour period but you didn’t respond until after and Ii will never recommend your service Annabel
Extremely uncomfortable pillows, otherwise all good enough Svetlana
Cabin was nice. Enoigh water and snacks. Gentleman whi came to change voucher for tickets was on time. Schippers
Train tres propre, personnel sympathique. Climatisation trop forte Mireille
We were not put on the new livitrans express train even though we selected to not be put on another train should the livitrans be unavailable. When we enquired about the move to another train company my partner was verbally and physically abused by the train staff. We also upgraded to a 2 berth cabin however it was quite clear that this would not have been required as the train carriage was basically empty, therefore pretty disappointed by the booking company for not suggesting the upgrade would not be necessary. Alexander
Yves
Not sure how the train can be described as the ‘New’ Liberians Express. Our carriage (number 9) felt tired and dirty (the toilet was an exception which was clean).. The mattress was thin and hard and not comfortable to sleep on. The main issue though was a loud banging and creaking sound from under the carriage floor. This went on continually for the duration of the journey so we got very little sleep. We were looking forward to the journey in the traditional carriage but our experience was very disappointing. If this is typical of the standard of trains we will choose private hires or buses for our other journeys in Vietnam. Michael
We could smell smoking through the air conditioning system in the entire journey Jung
I am almost certain that my purse with money and my card was stolen on the train John
Was a good trip. Well organised. Easy arrival at station and given ticket and where to go. Was overall a good experience. Was loud and hard to sleep with moving train but that is to be expected:) Julie
Very good and good staff very clean toilet Mathis
Despite the typhoon they didn't want to accept our cancellation request Giuseppe
Beds are too hard Valeria
Very stressful start to the journey - a family of 6 had been double booked in the next cabin (2 in ours & 4 double booked next door) this took almost an hour to resolve. We were given an arrival time of 04:52 but the train arrived at around 5:30 meaning we had been awake since 4:30 unnecessarily & had to re-arrange transport to accomodation. Finally. Our host suggested that my daughter had been bitten by bed bugs! Tracy
It was great but would like more announcement of the stops as I was always quite anxious I would not have enough time to gather my belongings when arriving Emily
Need to provide wifi. Douglas
The sleeping berths were very comfortable and the train was on time. The toilet was very clean! We enjoyed the journey. One problem: we were on a 14-hour ride, and there was no soap at the sink next to the toilet for the entire journey. It needed refilling but nobody looked after it. It is really unpleasant not to be able to wash your hands for 14 hours, including after several visits to the toilet. Patti
The toilets were not clean at all - Yusra
Too hard to climb the upper berth for a 75 yr old person. A ladder on the side would makes it easier Ngteefong
Cristina
No mattress, very hard, Not very clean Philip
